"Dark Hearts"

Our latest production "Dark Hearts" is a dark, edgy and graphic study of mental and physical disintegration. Written by Christian Piers Betley and directed by Rudolf Buitendach.

Axel Pictures, founded in 2008, is a boutique film production company. Dark Hearts is Axel Picture’s debut feature film showcasing a whole host of talent.

Lucas Till (X-Men: First Class), Kyle Schmid (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), Rachel Blanchard ("7th Heaven"), Juliet Landau ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer") and Sonja Kinski are starring in the noir indie. Goran Visnjic ("E.R.") and Richard Edson (Ferris Bueller's Day Off) play supporting roles.

"Our primary aim is to make films that will impact people’s lives, through the stories of others. It’s the ability to inspire emotion, imagination, and perhaps even stimulate intellectual debate which drew me to writing. I want to create worlds and characters that people can identify with, on different personal levels. It’s the ability to reflect on these lives and different situations that can bring about a change in perspective. I like to turn things on their head and question what drives people away from the mundane and conventional, whether it be to reap havoc or achieve extraordinary things" says Christian Piers Betley.
